This concert offers a musical palette full of colors, emotions and contrasts, through the voices of the flute and the piano — two instruments that, together, create a rich and expressive dialogue.
It is divided into three sections that highlight the versatility of this duo and connect with different sensitivities and musical landscapes. The first part includes works written especially for flute and piano, where the lightness and elegance of the flute converse with the harmonic depth of the piano, featuring pieces by Cécile Chaminade, Henri Perilhou and others.
The second part explores Spanish and Latin American music, with works by Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albéniz and Astor Piazzolla, evoking popular dances, distant landscapes and intense emotions.
The final part focuses on melodies inspired by opera, with repertoire by Giuseppe Verdi, blending brilliance and drama.

THE PERFORMERS
The duo formed by Catalina Roig and Rafael González Paz brings together two established careers and an artistic rapport that shines through in every performance. Since their first collaboration at the Festival Internacional Vila de Santanyí in 2023, they have performed across the Balearic Islands, offering concerts where sensitivity, precision and the dialogue between flute and piano take center stage.
Catalina Roig, a flautist from Santanyí, has performed with various chamber ensembles and at numerous music festivals, as well as collaborating with orchestras such as the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands. With a long pedagogical career, she combines musical expressiveness with a refined mastery of her instrument, developed through solid training in Mallorca and Barcelona.
Rafael González Paz, a pianist born in Montevideo and based in Ibiza, has performed at prestigious venues in Europe and Latin America, including the Teatro Solís in Montevideo, Teatro del Lago in Frutillar, Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile, and the Palace of Arts in Budapest. He has collaborated with various chamber ensembles and, since 2022, has maintained a close relationship with the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands. Trained in Germany and Hungary, he stands out for his refined, expressive playing that combines intellectual depth with sonic sensitivity.
Together, they offer varied programs spanning different periods and styles, with special attention to the context and language of each work. Their concerts are characterized by the natural dialogue between the instruments and the engaging introductions they share with the audience, bringing a vivid and personal perspective to the music they perform.
Aquest concert ofereix un ventall musical ple de colors, emocions i contrastos, de la mà de la flauta travessera i el piano —dues veus que, juntes, creen un diàleg ric i expressiu.
Està dividit en tres parts que mostren la versatilitat d’aquesta formació i connecten amb diferents sensibilitats i paisatges musicals. La primera part inclou obres pensades especialment per a flauta i piano, on la lleugeresa i elegància de la flauta dialoga amb la profunditat harmònica del piano, amb peces de Cécile Chaminade, Henri Perilhou i altres.
La segona part viatja per la música espanyola i llatinoamericana, amb Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albéniz o Astor Piazzolla, evocant danses populars, paisatges llunyans i emocions intenses.
La tercera part es centra en melodies inspirades en l’òpera, amb repertori de Giuseppe Verdi, combinant brillantor i dramatúrgia.

ELS INTÈRPRETS
El duet format per Catalina Roig i Rafael González Paz uneix dues trajectòries consolidades i una complicitat artística que es reflecteix en cada interpretació. Des del seu primer encontre al Festival Internacional Vila de Santanyí el 2023, han compartit escenaris arreu de les Illes oferint concerts on la sensibilitat, la precisió i el diàleg entre flauta i piano prenen un protagonisme especial.
Catalina Roig, flautista nascuda a Santanyí, ha format part de diverses formacions de cambra i ha participat en nombrosos festivals de música, a més de col·laborar amb orquestres com la Simfònica de les Illes Balears. Amb una llarga trajectòria pedagògica, combina l’expressivitat musical amb un domini refinat de l’instrument, fruit d’una sòlida formació a Mallorca i Barcelona.
Rafael González Paz, pianista nascut a Montevideo i establert a Eivissa, ha actuat en escenaris de prestigi a Europa i Amèrica Llatina, com el Teatre Solís de Montevideo, el Teatro del Lago de Frutillar, el Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Xile o el Palau de les Arts de Budapest. Ha col·laborat amb diverses formacions de cambra i, des del 2022, manté una estreta relació amb l’Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears. Format a Alemanya i Hongria, destaca per una interpretació refinada i expressiva, que combina profunditat intel·lectual i sensibilitat sonora.
El duet ofereix programes variats que recorren diferents èpoques i estils, amb una atenció especial al context i al llenguatge de cada obra.
