Maria Assumpió Janer & Catalina Roig

Catalina Roig (flute) and Maria Assumpció Janer (harp) are two Mallorcan performers with a solid artistic background and a deep connection to chamber music.

Maria Assumpció Janer, trained in Palma and Madrid, has performed as a soloist with the Young Orchestra of the Balearic Islands and collaborates with the Palma Municipal Band, the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra, the Ibiza Symphony Orchestra and the Menorca Chamber Orchestra, among other ensembles. She is noted for her expressive sensitivity and technical precision, recognised with the Award for Academic Excellence in Higher Artistic Studies from the Balearic Government.

Catalina Roig, a flautist born in Santanyí, has been part of various chamber groups and participated in numerous music festivals, as well as collaborating with several orchestras, including the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra. With a long teaching career, she combines musical expressiveness with a refined command of the instrument, the result of her solid training in Mallorca and Barcelona.

The duo stands out for their stage chemistry and their ability to create an intimate and evocative musical experience. In each concert, flute and harp engage in a natural dialogue, and the performers share insights and reflections that enrich the listening experience, bringing the audience closer to the context and spirit of each piece. A fresh, engaging way of experiencing chamber music.
