The Project
Rels i Records grew out of the work of Duo de la Fuente · Prats around vocal and piano repertoire, the recovery of musical heritage and contemporary creation.
The album brings together works from different periods and traditions through a contemporary perspective, following a journey across languages, aesthetics and territories.
The project combines historical repertoire, heritage recovery and new creation, with particular attention to music and poetry connected to the Mediterranean context.
The Unifying Thread
Camí Florit is an original work by Llorenç Prats for voice and electronics, composed specifically for Rels i Records and based on texts by Josep Maria Llompart.
Divided into four parts, it recurs throughout the album, shaping the dialogue between the historical repertoire and contemporary creation.
Drawing on Llompart’s poem, Duo de la Fuente · Prats conceive the project as a journey in which each piece becomes a flower: a stimulus that enters into the repertoire and is transformed through a personal interpretation.
Musical and poetic tradition thus become a living sonic memory, revisited from a contemporary perspective. This is also the idea expressed by the duo in the album booklet.
Flors d’Escardot · Carme Karr
Rels i Records includes what is considered the first known commercial recording of Flors d’Escardot by Carme Karr, contributing to the recovery and dissemination of this musical heritage.reix Flors d’Escardot.
