Biography

Maria Assumpció Janer (harp) and Catalina Roig (flute) are two Mallorcan performers with solid artistic careers and a deep connection to chamber music.

Born in Palma in 1998, Maria Assumpció Janer has won several harp competitions and performed as a soloist with the Young Orchestra of the Balearic Islands. She has collaborated with ensembles such as the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra, the RTVE Orchestra, Ensemble Lumière, and the Chamber Orchestra of Mallorca. She graduated with distinction from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid and received the Balearic Government’s Award for Academic Excellence in Higher Artistic Studies.

Catalina Roig, from Santanyí, trained in Barcelona and has been a flute teacher at the Professional Conservatory of Music and Dance of Mallorca since 2000. She has performed in prestigious festivals and concert series such as the “Santanyí International Music Festival” and the “Palau March Series”, and has collaborated with the Barcelona City Orchestra, the Haydn Orchestra, and the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra. She is a founding member of the Bóreas Wind Quintet.

The duo stands out for their on-stage connection and ability to create an intimate, evocative experience. In each performance, they not only play with sensitivity and refined technique, but also share brief stories and reflections that draw the audience into the world of each piece, establishing a warm and direct rapport with listeners.
