Biography
Born in Montevideo and based in Ibiza, pianist Rafael González Paz has performed on prestigious stages across Europe and Latin America, including the Teatro Solís in Montevideo, the Teatro del Lago in Frutillar, the Municipal Theatre of Santiago de Chile, and the Palace of Arts in Budapest. He has taken part in several piano seasons of the Chamber Music Series of Uruguay’s National Radio (SODRE), offering recitals both in Montevideo and throughout the country. In Mallorca, he also appears at festivals such as the Clàssica Festival in Maria de la Salut, the International Festival Vila de Santanyí, the Migjorn Chamber Music Cycle, and the Concert Series at Ca’n Bonico.
Alongside his work as a soloist, Rafael has collaborated with various chamber ensembles in South America and Europe. Since 2022, he has developed a close collaboration with the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands.
With solid training in Germany and Hungary, his playing is distinguished by refined expression, intellectual depth, and a sensitive approach to sound.
A resident of the Balearic Islands since 2018, Rafael combines performance with teaching. He has served as Associate Professor at the Higher Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands, at the Municipal School of Music of Santanyí, and at the Conservatory of Felanitx. He is currently piano professor at the Municipal School of Music of Sant Joan de Labritja in Ibiza.
